CG Power and Industrial Solutions at a glance
CG Power and Industrial Solutions traces its Indian operating history to 1937, when Crompton Parkinson established manufacturing operations in India. Its deeper corporate roots involve several predecessor businesses, including Britain's Crompton and India's Greaves businesses, so assigning one individual founder to the present Indian company would be misleading; the founder field is therefore left blank. Over time, CG developed into a major manufacturer of electrical equipment used in power systems and industrial applications. Its products include transformers, switchgear, electric motors, generators, drives, railway equipment and other electrical systems. The company went through financial difficulties during the late 2010s and was acquired by the Murugappa Group in 2020. Since then, CG Power has returned to growth and is also entering semiconductor manufacturing through a new assembly and testing venture.
