Adani Enterprises at a glance
Adani Enterprises traces its beginning to 1988, when Gautam Adani established Adani Exports as a commodity-trading business in Ahmedabad. Over time, the company expanded into infrastructure and became the flagship business incubator of the Adani Group. Adani Enterprises develops new businesses until they reach sufficient scale, after which some have historically been separated into independently listed companies. Its activities have included resources and mining services, airports, roads, data centres, defence and aerospace, solar manufacturing and newer energy businesses. Several large Adani companies, including Adani Ports and Adani Power, developed from businesses originally housed within the flagship company. This makes Adani Enterprises different from a single-product operating company: it functions partly as an operating business and partly as a platform for developing the group's next generation of infrastructure businesses.
