Dixon Technologies was founded in 1993 by Sunil Vachani and began by manufacturing colour televisions. It later expanded into one of India's largest electronics manufacturing services companies. Instead of mainly selling products under the Dixon name, it manufactures devices and appliances for other domestic and international brands. Its product categories include mobile phones, televisions, washing machines, refrigerators, lighting products, telecom equipment, wearables, hearables and other electronics. Dixon also provides services such as product design, component sourcing, manufacturing, assembly and after-sales support. Subsidiaries and joint ventures allow it to manufacture different categories for different customers while benefiting from India's electronics-manufacturing incentives. Its growth has increasingly been driven by global and Indian brands shifting more production to India and looking for large local manufacturing partners.
