Milky Mist is a dairy-products business built by T. Sathish Kumar in Tamil Nadu. The family's dairy journey began earlier, but the Milky Mist brand itself was created in 1997 as the business expanded paneer sales into the retail market. The company later added products such as curd, cheese, butter, ghee, yogurt, ice cream, UHT products and other foods. It now operates multiple brands, including Milky Mist, SmartChef, Capella and Misty Lite, and has also added acquired brands. Milky Mist manages milk procurement, manufacturing, cold-chain infrastructure and distribution because dairy products require careful temperature control. The business has grown from a regional paneer producer into a broader branded food and value-added dairy company selling across India.
