Policybazaar at a glance
Policybazaar is an online insurance marketplace in India. Insurance companies list their policies on the platform, and customers can compare them based on price, coverage, benefits and other features before choosing a policy. It sells products across health, life, motor, travel and other insurance categories.
Policybazaar does not usually take the insurance risk itself. The policy is issued by the insurance company, while Policybazaar acts as the distribution platform connecting customers with insurers and earns revenue from policies sold through its platform. It also helps customers through online, phone and offline channels during the buying process. By June 2026, PB Fintech reported that its insurance platforms had sold 71.6 million policies, while insurance premium was running at an annualised rate of about ₹355 billion in Q1 FY27. Policybazaar is part of PB Fintech, which also operates Paisabazaar.
