Sarvam AI builds artificial-intelligence technology for India. The company develops AI models as well as the software infrastructure that businesses, developers and governments can use to build AI applications. An important part of its work is making AI useful across Indian languages and voice-based interactions rather than designing only for English-speaking users. Sarvam therefore works across several layers of the AI business: training models, providing tools for developers and helping organisations deploy AI applications. Vivek Raghavan and Pratyush Kumar founded the company in 2023. Sarvam raised $41 million in its Series A shortly after starting and announced a $300 million Series B in 2026 as it expanded its work on India's sovereign AI infrastructure.
