Zepto at a glance
Zepto is a quick-commerce company built around delivering everyday products in a very short time. Instead of collecting an order from a normal supermarket, Zepto stores inventory inside small warehouses called dark stores located close to customers. When someone orders groceries, household supplies, personal-care products or other items through the app, workers pick the products inside the dark store and a delivery partner takes the order to the customer. Keeping inventory close to residential areas makes fast delivery possible. Zepto was founded by Aadit Palicha and Kaivalya Vohra and began operating in 2020. Over time, it has expanded beyond basic groceries into a much wider range of products, making it closer to a small digital supermarket that delivers from neighbourhood fulfilment centres.
