Reliance Industries is a diversified company with businesses that serve both consumers and other businesses. Its traditional operations are in oil refining, petrochemicals and oil and gas, where it processes crude oil and produces fuels, chemicals and materials used by industries. Over time, Reliance expanded into consumer businesses through Reliance Retail and Jio. Reliance Retail operates stores and digital commerce businesses across grocery, electronics, fashion and other categories, while Jio provides mobile, broadband and digital services. The group also has businesses in media and entertainment and is investing in solar, batteries, hydrogen and other new-energy technologies. Reliance began as a textile business founded by Dhirubhai Ambani before expanding into petrochemicals and energy. In FY2025-26, Reliance reported consolidated revenue of about ₹11.76 lakh crore and profit of about ₹95,754 crore.
