Exponent Energy at a glance
Exponent Energy was founded in 2020 by Arun Vinayak and Sanjay Byalal, both of whom had previously worked at Ather Energy. The company developed a battery and charging system designed around very fast charging for electric vehicles. Its technology combines the e-pack battery with its e-pump charging station, allowing compatible commercial vehicles to complete a rapid charge in about 15 minutes. Exponent works with vehicle manufacturers to integrate its battery technology and also builds the charging network needed to support those vehicles. It initially focused strongly on electric three-wheelers and other commercial vehicles because faster charging can improve vehicle utilisation and driver earnings. The company has since expanded into a broader energy ecosystem around vehicles, charging and fleet services. Its business therefore combines batteries, charging infrastructure, software and mobility services.
