Ankit Garg is the co-founder and director of sleep and home-products company Wakefit.
Journey
Garg studied chemical engineering at IIT Roorkee and worked at Bayer MaterialScience, where he developed knowledge of polyurethane foam. He saw that mattresses carried high retail mark-ups and that product information was difficult for consumers to evaluate.
He co-founded Wakefit with Chaitanya Ramalingegowda in 2015. The company began by selling mattresses directly online, using customer trials and feedback to reduce purchase anxiety. It later expanded into furniture, home products and physical stores and listed in 2025. Garg's verified LinkedIn profile identifies him as founder and director.
Working approach
Garg's product knowledge supported a focus on materials, manufacturing and value rather than brand advertising alone. Direct customer feedback became a way to improve products and decide which home categories to enter.
