Chaitanya Ramalingegowda

Chaitanya Ramalingegowda is the co-founder of Wakefit.

Journey

Ramalingegowda studied engineering and later management at the Indian School of Business. He worked across sales, marketing and consulting and had earlier entrepreneurial experience before partnering with Ankit Garg.

The pair founded Wakefit in 2015 as an online mattress company. Ramalingegowda helped build the brand, customer acquisition, service and organisation while Garg brought material and product expertise. Wakefit expanded into furniture and home products, opened stores and became a listed company in 2025.

Working approach

He has written about customer accountability, long-term relationships and the value of employees who take ownership. Those views fit a consumer business where complaints and missed delivery promises directly affect trust.

Assessment

Ramalingegowda provided the commercial and people-building complement to Garg's product background. The next test is whether Wakefit can preserve ownership and customer responsiveness as a much larger public retailer.
