Prateek Maheshwari

Prateek Maheshwari is the co-founder of PhysicsWallah who helped turn Alakh Pandey's teaching channel into a scaled education company.

Journey

Maheshwari earned a mechanical engineering degree from IIT (BHU) Varanasi. Before PhysicsWallah, he spent many years building and operating technology and education ventures. This gave him experience in product development, business systems and execution that complemented Pandey's teaching-led public profile.

He joined Pandey in 2020 to establish the PhysicsWallah company and digital platform. Maheshwari led technology, operations, expansion and capital-raising as the business moved beyond YouTube into paid courses, examination preparation, offline centres and acquired companies. PhysicsWallah's official material credits him as co-founder and notes his role in product innovation and strategic acquisitions. The business listed in India in 2025.

Maheshwari's contribution has been institution building: adding processes, technology and management capacity without removing the low-price and teacher-led proposition that created early demand.
