Rishikesh S R is a co-founder of mobility platform Rapido.

Journey

Rishikesh trained in computer science and worked as a software engineer before entrepreneurship. His LinkedIn profile describes two earlier attempts in fintech and logistics that did not succeed. Those projects nevertheless gave him experience with digital transactions and the operational difficulties of moving goods and people.

In 2015 he joined Pavan Guntupalli and Aravind Sanka to create the business that became Rapido. The founders focused on motorbike taxis as a low-cost way to address short urban trips and first- and last-mile travel. The company later added auto-rickshaws, cabs and delivery-related services. Rapido's official page identifies all three as founders, while operational leadership is most publicly associated with Sanka as CEO.

Working approach

Rishikesh's path shows persistence after failed ventures and a willingness to apply earlier logistics learning to a more frequent consumer need. Rapido also developed city by city, adapting to regulations and local transport patterns.

Assessment

His contribution is part of a complementary founding team rather than a separately advertised executive portfolio. Rapido's continuing challenge is to improve driver economics and safety while navigating different state rules and intense price competition.
