Siddharth Sikka

Siddharth Sikka is a co-founder of Battery Smart.

Journey

Sikka studied at IIT Kanpur and developed experience in product, technology and mobility. He first worked with Pulkit Khurana on a mobility start-up in 2015. Running an operationally intensive venture helped the founders understand fleet downtime, driver economics and the barriers to adopting electric vehicles.

They founded Battery Smart in 2019 around interoperable battery swapping for electric two- and three-wheelers. The company built software, battery-control processes and a network of partner-operated stations. Sikka's role has been associated with product and systems development, while Khurana serves as the more visible chief executive. The model seeks to separate the battery cost from vehicle ownership and keep commercial vehicles on the road.

Working approach

Sikka's work reflects a systems view: batteries, vehicles, charging, station partners and drivers all have to function as one network. Growth without asset tracking, safety controls or predictable utilisation would weaken the model.

Assessment

His contribution is the product and operating design behind Battery Smart's network. Long-term credibility depends on safe batteries, reliable swaps and economics that work for drivers, station partners and the company.
