Ola Electric makes electric vehicles, with its main business built around electric scooters sold in India. The company designs its vehicles, develops software and battery-related technology, manufactures scooters and sells them through its own distribution network. Its scooter portfolio has been built around the Ola S1 family, while the company has also been developing electric motorcycles and battery cells. Manufacturing is an important part of the model: rather than operating only as a vehicle brand, Ola Electric has invested in large-scale production facilities for electric two-wheelers and battery technology. The company was incorporated in 2017 and was founded by Bhavish Aggarwal, who had earlier co-founded the Ola ride-hailing business. Ola Electric became a separately listed company in 2024.
