Ultraviolette was founded in 2016 by Narayan Subramaniam and Niraj Rajmohan. The Bengaluru-based company focuses on high-performance electric motorcycles rather than low-speed commuter scooters. Its flagship platform began with the F77, an electric motorcycle designed around performance, range, battery technology and connected software. Ultraviolette develops important systems such as battery packs, vehicle electronics and software while combining them with motorcycle design and engineering. It has also begun expanding its product portfolio and international presence. TVS Motor is a strategic investor in the company. Ultraviolette positions its products in the premium part of the electric two-wheeler market and uses a direct brand experience and retail model. Its business therefore combines vehicle engineering, battery development, software, manufacturing and premium electric-motorcycle retail.
