Amit Gupta

Amit Gupta is the co-founder and chief executive officer of shared electric-mobility company Yulu.

Journey

Gupta studied engineering at IIT Kanpur and spent years building technology businesses. He co-founded InMobi, where he worked on global mobile advertising and developed experience scaling a product across markets. Urban congestion and the difficulty of short trips later drew him towards mobility.

Gupta co-founded Yulu in 2017 with R. K. Misra, Naveen Dachuri and Anuj Tewari. The company introduced app-based shared bicycles and electric two-wheelers and later focused on electric vehicles for last-mile delivery and short urban travel. Yulu's official page identifies Gupta as CEO, with responsibility for strategy, partnerships and capital.

Working approach

He has favoured an ecosystem model that combines purpose-built vehicles, battery swapping, software and city partnerships. The shift towards delivery riders reflected a willingness to refine the customer base when utilisation patterns changed.

Assessment

Gupta brought global platform experience to a physical mobility network. Yulu's durability depends on high vehicle use, safe operations and economics that work without indefinite subsidy.
