Nandan Reddy

Nandan Reddy is a co-founder of Swiggy who has led business development, operations and newer initiatives at the food-delivery and convenience company.

Journey

Reddy studied engineering at BITS Pilani and worked at Intellecap before moving into entrepreneurship. He first joined Sriharsha Majety to build Bundl, a logistics service intended to help online sellers manage shipments. The founders shut Bundl after finding that the opportunity was not developing strongly enough, then studied other delivery markets where reliable execution could solve a frequent customer problem.

Reddy and Majety launched Swiggy in Bengaluru in 2014 with technology co-founder Rahul Jaimini. Swiggy differentiated itself by operating a delivery fleet instead of acting only as a restaurant-ordering marketplace. Reddy helped build restaurant relationships and city operations, and later worked on new-business and innovation efforts as Swiggy expanded into quick commerce, dining and other convenience services. The company listed in India in 2024.

Working approach

Reddy's record shows a preference for learning through field operations. The move from Bundl to food delivery came from abandoning a weak model, while Swiggy's early execution depended on direct engagement with restaurants, delivery partners and customers.

Assessment

His contribution lies in converting a logistics insight into an operating network that could be repeated across cities. The continuing test is whether innovation projects improve customer value and group economics rather than simply adding complexity.
