Rahul Jaimini

Rahul Jaimini is a technology entrepreneur who co-founded Swiggy and later joined Pesto Tech as a co-founder.

Journey

Jaimini studied computer science at IIT Kharagpur. He worked at Myntra and helped build its mobile and web technology before joining Nandan Reddy and Sriharsha Majety in 2014. The team needed a technical co-founder who could create the ordering, dispatch and delivery systems for a food-delivery service that controlled its own last mile.

As Swiggy's founding technology leader, Jaimini helped build the first product and engineering organisation and served as chief technology officer. The platform had to coordinate restaurants, customers and delivery partners in real time, making reliability and operational visibility central to the product. In 2020 he left his active Swiggy role to join Pesto Tech, while reporting at the time said he would remain a shareholder and board member of Swiggy.

Working approach

His work has focused on engineering teams and developer careers. At Swiggy, technology was closely tied to ground operations; at Pesto, the emphasis shifted towards helping software professionals develop skills and access opportunities.

Assessment

Jaimini's main Swiggy contribution was creating the technical base for a logistics-heavy marketplace during its earliest years. His later career should be distinguished from Swiggy's current management rather than treating the founder label as a current executive position.
